John Ruiz Jr is a Louisiana based Country-Rock, singer/songwriter. He is relatively new on the scene. He has had the chance to do shows with Jamey Johnson & Colt Ford back in February too. His debut single, “Long Time Coming,” was his first to reach the top 20 in Country Music charts in LA.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=satfxnRIMjU

“Long Time Coming,” is a powerful country/rock song that is full of surprises. The vocals are pretty intense. John has a great tone to his voice, which is insanely smooth throughout the entire song. The instrumentals are also on point. It has more of a bluesy country feel to it, especially with the organ and the background vocals. The lyrics also tell a story, which is my favorite part about any kind of music. All in all, this is a solid release by a promising Country/Rock artist. Considering this is a debut single, it is pretty impressive. John Ruiz Jr proves in this single, that he is one to watch out for.

“Long Time Coming,” is a good example of music that needs to be played on the radio today. The lyrics and vocals are solid. They have a way of drawing you into the message of the song. If you are looking for an artist that has great vocals and a storytelling ability, check out John Ruiz Jr! You will not be disappointed.

The song "Few Good Men" is my tribute to our often overlooked veterans of war. My father served in Vietnam and was proud to have done so. If you are a veteran or have a family member who served tag them below and know that your sacrifice is appreciated, if not recognized the way it should be. Jerry Ruiz RIP.
