This new program will feature three different sessions of Family Fun Art! What a great way to spend a Saturday morning - outside, creating art and making family memories! Snacks provided. Who says you can’t enjoy art AND the great outdoors?!
Saturday / Sept. 24 + Oct. 15 + Nov. 5 / 10-11:30 a.m.
Sept. 24: Plein Air Sketching
Create a landscape sketch of Zachary’s Community Park’s beautiful green spaces.
Oct. 15: Paint like a French Impressionist
Using acrylic on canvas, participants will paint an impressionistic piece of Zachary Community Park’s green spaces.
Nov. 5: Water, Water, Everywhere
Families will create a mixed media collage using the Zachary Community Park ponds as an inspiration.
$10 per session per person EBR Parish residents

Mug hand building workshop:
Each spot is $130
Hand build a mug or cup, using the slab building technique. Create a personal mug or cup for yourself or for a friend. Textures and stamps will be available to use to add some details to your mugs. 10-15 minutes of demonstration followed by 3 hours of guided instruction in the slab building technique. Choose the glaze of your preference at the end of day 1. It will be available day 2.

Free Toolkit with 3d printed tools to keep for use at home. You will leave with the basics of hand building, using the slab building technique. We will also cover pinch pots and rolling coils for hand building.
All supplies needed to create a ceramic mug safe for food, dishwashers, and microwaves; Clay, glaze, tools, buckets, water, slip, sponges,brushes, and aprons.
- 2 separate firings, bisque & glaze. Each will be 2-3 days after the workshop. This allows for drying times, and firing times. Finished products can be picked up from our booth at the Zachary Farmer’s & Artisans Market the following weekend.
-All participants will receive a 25% off coupon for any 1 item from the dinnerware available at my booth during a market day.
- Limited spaces available, only 12 spots. Extra days or spots will be opened as needed.
- Wear clothing that can get dirty, clay can be messy!!! I will have aprons and towels to help keep things clean.
- Hamburgers and sausage poboys will be included for the picnic part of the workshop. The food will be ready towards the end of the workshop. Sweet tea, unsweet tea, and lemonade will also be served. If you would like to bring your own picnic basket, feel free to do so.
- We will be at the Zachary Community Park under one of the pavilions, restrooms will be open, all park rules must be adhered to at all times. NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED
-Be respectful to others, the park’s equipment & facilities, and my tools & equipment at all times. Failure to do so will forfeit your spot and no refund will be given.
In the event of a rain out, it will be rescheduled or relocated.
Spots are on a first come first served basis, with those paid in full getting priority. The next event will be announced in the coming weeks.
