The 5th Annual Concert showcases the rich-unique musical heritage of The Ward family’s legacy as Violinist passed through generations. Father, International Jazz violinist Michael Ward , A Southern University Alumni , began building a legacy 3 decades ago as one of the first Contemporary Jazz Violinist from the south. He not only achieved International prominence, but left a career path for the next generation to follow.
To no surprise, his first born son enamored with the instrument at the age of 3, quickly followed suit. Baton Rouge native, Shaun Ward an accomplished contemporary violinist, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer; has continued to electrify stages as a repeat performer at 2017 & ‘18 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (Congo Square Stage), 2017 & ‘18’s Baton Rouge’s Live After 5. 2019 has seen him embark on a National College Tour, and Film Composition and Production credits in the recently released Perry Productions Film “A Life To Choose” .
This concert, now a Ward tradition, unites the father-son duo on stage annually, with family and friends, + great food, making it a true family affair! |
