Music Makers at St. Aloysius is a Mommy & Me program that meets informally once a week. In class, we love to encourage interaction between everyone! It's a great way to introduce your little ones to music, as well as, other children. The class is also a fantastic avenue for mothers to meet and get to know one another. Each week we gather around in a circle and lead the class through a set music playlist comprised of educational and popular children's sing-along songs. With South Louisiana serving as a jumping off point, Lafayette’s own Radio Zydeco cut, twist, deconstruct and reassemble until they create a fusion of unorthodox sound. They bring an eclectic and relatable message into a music tradition rooted in care-free attitude and good-time vibes. Believing that if a person remembers their troubles it’s all the more reason to act to rid them. Dance is the means by which Radio Zydeco delivers. Leveling their influences to create the forthcoming EP, the band’s deep cut searches shine through on tracks like “Yea U Rite”. Casting a wide net for influence including dancehall, swamp rock, and Zydeco. Its sure to cross any barriers, style or genre, placed in its path. All the boys come from strong music traditions including delta blues, Memphis soul, and all things South Louisiana. Radio Zydeco is music for everyone.

Our 9:00AM Mass on Sunday, November 17th, will be celebrated on the Fairgrounds. (In case of rain, this Mass will be celebrated in the Church.) You are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets for seating around the outdoor Altar. (Limited chairs will be available for the elderly and those without their own.)
Music Ministers for Mass will be Cooper Ray and Friends.
Cooper is a former St. Aloysius 5:30 Mass music director and a nationally known Catholic youth
worship leader. He returns to Baton Rouge to lead us in sung prayer during this special liturgy. His group will offer the “Songs of Praise” Concert immediately after the Mass. |

Music Makers at St. Aloysius is a Mommy & Me program that meets informally once a week. In class, we love to encourage interaction between everyone! It's a great way to introduce your little ones to music, as well as, other children. The class is also a fantastic avenue for mothers to meet and get to know one another. Each week we gather around in a circle and lead the class through a set music playlist comprised of educational and popular children's sing-along songs. Each song has a coordinating instrument that is used, but we encourage the children to have fun and be creative. Whether they are singing along, dancing around, or gnawing on their musical instruments, our only goal is to get them involved and to have a wonderful time! Each child is assigned their own numbered bag that they will use throughout the year with their own set of sterilized instruments to ensure there is no sharing of germs. Loriane is the 2020 St. Louis Cathedral Young Artist in Residence
We are pleased to host organist, Loriane Llorca, the current Young Artist-In-Residence at St. Louis King of France Cathedral in New Orleans in recital at St. Aloysius Church. Originally from Béarn, born in 1993, she began her musical studies of the piano and organ at the Pau Conservatory with Jesus Martin Móro. She then studied the harpsichord at the Conservatoire de Toulouse with Stéphane Bois, Michel Bouvard, and Jan Willem Jansen, and the pianoforte with Yasuko Uyama-Bouvard. Loriane holds a degree in Musicology from the University of Paris (the Sorbonne). As a musician, she combines theory and practice, tradition and modernity. Passionate about a wide variety of repertoire, and exhibiting mastery and eclecticism, she strives to present a wide variety of works highlighting the musical richness of the organ. In 2016, she joined Olivier Latry and Michel Bouvard's Classes at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. In 2017, she won the Grand Prize and the Audience Prize at the Jean-Louis Florentz International Competition, under the auspices of the Académie des Beaux-Arts - Institut de France. For the year 2018-2019, while continuing her organ studies at the CNSM in Paris, Loriane was appointed as annual organist in residence at the Centre for Baroque Music in Versailles.
