Living history demonstrations will interpret activities that took place on Louisiana farms and plantations during harvest time in the 1800s. Artisans will demonstrate skills related to daily chores, hunting, metal working and other 19th century skills. Activities will include cooking, soap making wood working, blacksmithing, and other hands-on activities for the family. Join us as we open our fields and crank up our tractors to usher in the Fall season with some safe crazy mazy outdoor fun.
Choose your time slot and plan ahead:
Morning Session: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Afternoon Session: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Corn Maze has been reimagined this year for you and your family to "Harvest Some Happiness" with the Botanic Gardens. Your 2-HOUR Corn Maze experience will allow you to traverse the maze, meander through the sunflower fields, ride a hayride and pick satsumas with the ones you love. Other activities include climbing the hay mountain, animal feeding with Goula Paradise Farm, going on a "Rock Rascal" rock hunt, take a pic' and pick-a-pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, take-home crafts, and more!
To ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees, this year's Corn Maze has a brand new layout and will operate with careful social distancing guidelines in place.
Masks will be required in certain areas. Each Saturday offers 3 sessions to choose from with a 30-minute gap between each session to allow for cleaning and sanitation.

The cups runneth over during the LSU Rural Life Museum's annual event beer festival, which definitely calls for designating a driver. The annual Zapp’s International Beer Festival brings tastings of more than two hundred domestic and international beers and ales to the Baton Rouge museum, plus more than a few home brews, which always end up being a festival highlight.
Zapp's International Beerfest XVI
More than 200 foreign, domestic, and home brewed beer and ales will be available for tasting. This event is for patrons 21 years of age and older. Proper photo identification required to purchase tickets and to enter event.
Non- alcoholic beverages will be available. Tickets are limited!

Grab your birding gear and join us bright and early to catch a glimpse of some of these species on a two-hour guided tour led by different birding specialists through the birding loops at Burden.
