If you’re needing a change from listening to today’s music, or perhaps you’re someone who feels a little disconnected from today, or maybe you enjoy listening to the Blues and are seeking a local group to follow. If any of that speaks to you, then I recommend you follow The Unselfish Lovers of the Blues Band. The handpicked songs chosen by band director, David Hinson, will inspire you to want to listen & learn more songs by those artists, many of which I’d never heard of but now enjoy listening to everyday. Although they mostly sing songs I’ve never heard, I find that I easily connect to & enjoy them; I’m uncertain as to why that is—but maybe it’s a combination of easy- to-listen-to-lyrics and the pure beat & rhythm of the songs. Songs such as “Grits Ain’t Groceries,” and “Lipstick Traces” are two of my favorites. As a southern lady, the titles surely grabbed my attention, & the lyrics & melodies are comfortably smooth & easy; traits that I’m looking for in today’s many times uncomfortable & difficult world. Listening to this talented & diverse group, The Unselfish Lovers of the Blues, is the change I needed to reconnect & find joy with the life I’m living now, & who knows, maybe you will, too
